Lester Denmark

Lester Denmark is an innovative educator who began his career in 1973 developing a new external learning school concept that resulted the opening of City As School, an internationally acclaimed external learning High School in New York City. He continued his development of new concepts in education in 1980 when the first Apple computers were introduced.

Lester has been integrating technology, running teacher and administrator workshops as well as teaching computer programming and the use of application programs to students as the digital landscape has upgraded over the last three decades. Lester has continually been integrating new technologies over this time period with the emphasis on developing the students into a self directed learners and working with teachers to infuse technology into the curriculum. Working as a Technology consultant since he retired 10 years ago he has been working as an Educational Technology consultant working with teachers to increase their teachers knowledge and application of Interactive Whiteboards, response systems, Web 2.0 applications and many other technologies  in order to improve teaching and learning.

In addition Lester built one of the first school student databases in 1981 to give teachers access to data that could be used in differentiating instruction and in helping students progress towards graduation. He also worked on the ARIS development team at Wireless Generation and trained NYC school personnel on the use of the ARIS system.

Lester continues his innovative work at AUSSIE Digital School Solutions collaborating with schools toin developing 21st Century school design and practices.
