Blended Instruction
Blended Instruction - Onsite & Online
To build on and support our onsite consulting services, schools may subscribe to our Blended Instruction Network which will give them remote access their DSS consultant for follow-on work through real-time and asynchronous communication tools (including an online interactive whiteboard), archived professional development materials, as well as tools to be used for interactions among members of the school’s Professional Learning Communities.
Some of the support through the Blended Instruction Network is:
- Onsite Modeling & Coaching - The DSS consultant typically begins and ends the blended engagement with side-by-side support at the physical school or district location in order to build a common vision for the work and see that is sustainable in the end.
- Virtual Classroom Support – The DSS consultant will be available for modeling instruction, managing resources or monitoring project progress.
- Personalized Planning & Instruction– Teachers may also arrange to meet with the DSS consultant for individual or small group planning or mentoring.
- “Buddy Groups”– Teachers will reflect and share the learning experiences in the process of expanding the bonds of the professional learning community with their online peer group..
- Miscellaneous Services – The DSS consultant can also offer technical advice, troubleshooting or help teachers find reliable methods of using technology in their classroom
Testimonials
"I am able to definitively state that the gains we have made in integrating technology into our curriculum and using it as a tool to support English Language Learner's is directly attributed to our DSS consultant."
